It's quite the machine, well for an Audi at least. The R8 Spyder will be offered exclusively with the powerful V10 engine - which is a de-tuned Lamborghini Gallardo engine. Power for the Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro is delivered from a 5.2L FSI direct-injected V10 delivering a whopping 525 hp with a maximum torque of 391 lb-ft.

The 6-speed manual gearbox (with an available 6-speed R tronic automatic double clutch version available too) rockets the car from stand still to 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.1 seconds and tops out at a breathtaking 194 mph. Fuel- economy comes in at an earth killing 16 mpg and 17 for the double clutch tranny.

Strangely left out of the design are the iconic side air blades. Other design changes for the Spyder model include additional air intakes located behind the seats as well as a pair of safety roll bars. The placement of the fuel filler cap was also changed due to the lack rear pillars. Most importantly the entire chassis has been strengthened.
